Hey Peds Residents,

It is incredible that summer is already over and we are entering into the fall season. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we thought this would be a great opportunity for the social committee + the darling Michelle Lai to launch our “Resident Family Dinners.” What exactly are “Resident Family Dinners,” you might be wondering? The idea is to have a few informal gatherings throughout the year, potluck style, where we can relax, enjoy good food, and great company! We hope to host these events every few months and you can look forward to different theme nights for each dinner. Since our first event will occur near Thanksgiving, I guess that our initial theme is “thank our lucky stars we have such a fab group of residents to work with!” And you can bring whatever food you like to eat at Thanksgiving!

The event details are as follows:
WHAT: First Resident Family Dinner
WHEN: Thursday, Oct 8, 2015. 6pm.
WHERE: Michelle Lai’s @ 2851 Heather St (on 12th and Heather)
WHO: You and family + friends are invited. Please indicate the number of people attending
WHY: Why not?
THEME: “Thank your lucky stars” Thanksgiving Dinner.

Hope to see you there!
Your social reps Gabrielle, Robynn, Sarah, and our beautiful hostess Michelle!

Bazooka Picnic:Formed in Vancouver, Bazooka Picnic is a bombastic, horn driven, Jazz funk ensemble! Inspired by Scofield, Lettuce and The Roots, this eclectic groove is gonna make you move in ways unimagined! Dear Staff, Residents and Nurses,

Please join us for a friendly soccer game at Andy Livingstone West Artificial Field Turf (89 Expo Blvd – between Carrall St & Quebec St, Vancouver) from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday July 26th, 2015. There will be residents and staff participating from multiple sites. We encourage everyone to bring any friends or family who may be interested in playing. Participants skill set will vary from first timers to those who play more regularly so we encourage everyone to participate as this game is completely for fun and a great way to interact with other nurses, residents and staff.

–       Please bring a black AND white t-shirt so we can make teams more easily.

–       All participants are to bring $5.00 each to cover the cost of the field and insurance.

–       Parking is located around the field. There are multiple parkades around the park, please google search “parking near andy livingstone park” for the exact locations.

–       Footwear: We will be playing on an artificial turf field therefore regular running shows are more than adequate.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!
