Indigenous Cultural Competency Course: https://phsa.culturalcompetency.ca/register/phsa
**ONCE COMPLETED, PLEASE SEND A COPY OF YOUR CERTIFICATE SO IT CAN BE PUT IN YOUR RESIDENT FILE.**
All residents must complete the PHSA Indigenous Cultural Competency Course. It is an 8 hour online course which highlights health disparities and culturally competent care for Indigenous people. It is done with an on-line cohort, but at your own pace. It must be completed in an 8 week window. It will be a mandatory part of the R1 Social Pediatrics Block (so moving forward, all residents will have done it in the R1 year). For the next two years, we will ask that R2s / R3s complete it during Research or Night Float/Research blocks.
You can register at https://phsa.culturalcompetency.ca/register/phsa
IMPORTANT: Please register for this at least 6 days ahead of when you want to start the course, as registration closes on the Wednesday for the cohort that starts the following Monday.
Health authority staff must provide a health authority e-mail address or payment will be required for training, i.e., use your @cw.bc.ca address.
Physicians and residents can just put xxx in any of the employment fields in step 2 that do not apply to them when registering (e.g., your manager). Choose the Core ICC Health course in step 3.
